I'm only a little bit late...

We kicked off the Christmas holidays by going to the San Antonio Symphony's performance of the Messiah.

We also went to Starbucks, of course.

I crocheted several Christmas presents this year. My mother wanted to document this for some reason, so she took my picture. Yes, I'm sitting in front of the computer. I think I was multi-tasking. Sorry I don't have any pictures of the finished product.

It's so good to be home despite the fact that I miss Nate immensely. Melissa says he cried all the way home from the airport because he missed me so much. Of course she added the disclaimer that he was really hungry when they got home, so that might have had something to do with it. Oh well, here are some of the last pictures I took.

Valparaiso and Vina del Mar

Yesterday we went to Valparaiso to do some sight seeing.

We sight saw the port and took pictures.

And then we went out to eat lunch at a seafood restaurant which was excellent.

Then we went to Vina del Mar to walk on the beach and freeze.

After we froze, we went to the mall the thaw out and drink coffee, but unfortunately I don't have any pictures of that.

At my mother's suggestion I am posting pictures of Melissa's new clothes dryer in action. It's extremely impressive and hi tech.

It works with both sunlight...

Goodbye

Michael left a week ago Monday, and my parents and Gabriel left last Friday.

Pomaire

Last Thursday we went to a little town called Pomaire that is about 45 minutes from Santiago. First we ate, which is, of course, the most important thing.

The restaurant was called Restaurant San Antonio. It was very picturesque.

But also rather cold.

After we ate, we went on to the next most important thing which is, of course, shopping.

Cajon del Maipo

Friday, May 25 we went to hiking at Cajon del Maipu. The picture in my banner is from there.

We got a late start so we only hiked for about an hour and a half, but we got up to where there started to be patches of snow. And if there is snow there must be a snowball fight!

San Cristobal

After we went to Santa Lucia, Manuel, Michael, Gabriel and I went up another hill called San Cristobal. First we went up the hill on a train.

And then we rode on the cable cars.

At one point we could get off, and walk around. We saw some very strange statues.

Last Thursday while we were out sight seeing, we went to a hill with a fort on it called Santa Lucia. The fort was very pretty, but we didn't get any pictures of it. We did get some pictures of the beautiful view.

The Texas Flag?

Last Thursday when we went sight seeing, we walked into a building, and what do you think we saw? Right in the middle of a display of world flags was the Texas flag. Imagine that! We decided that they couldn't put the U.S. flag because it was too detailed, so they put the Texas flag instead. Haha... Actually there was a flag that we think was supposed to represent the U.S. flag, but it only had one star and eleven stripes. Those crazy Chilenos!

Baby Shower

The Saturday after we got here, there was a tea for the ladies of the church and a surprise shower for Melissa.

Melissa received lots of nice presents for Nathanael. She even tried some on for size.

Everyone wrote a note in a card for Melissa.

And then Melissa read them.

I could write about what we've been doing, but I'll just wait until I get my pictures uploaded. It's easier just to post pictures with captions than to write everything out. And I'm obviously lazy. Haha...

Well we are all here except for Michael. His flight from Houston to Dallas was delayed, so he missed the flight from Dallas to Chile. But hopefully he will be here in the morning.

I had forgotten how much I dislike typing on Spanish computers. I can never figure out how to type certain punctuation marks. On this one it is the apostrophe. For some reason they have three symbols on one key, and I do not know how to get to the third one. Oh well. At least I am actually able to get on the internet!

So far we have not done much except talk and eat. Haha. Melissa opened up the presents we brought to her from people in the states. Nate already has lots of cute clothes!

Anyways, there is nothing really exciting to write about right now, so I guess I will stop!
